The Owners and rooms
Neil and Ellen purchased Marraway Farm in 2021 after living in Victoria. With three grown up children the time was right to make a move to a more rural local lifestyle.
Living onsite in the original part of the house they welcome visitors to two beautifully appointed guest rooms each with ensuite and separate heating and cooling. A third room can be made available if required.
A dining and reading room are also available for shared guest use.
Breakfast is self-serve with a variety of cereal, drinks, fresh milk and bread made available along with toasters, kettles and coffee maker.
Marraway Farm History
The original three bedroom farmstead was built in 1938 and was surrounded by extensive woodland. The land was partially logged in 1998 and the house was extended and modernised. The farm today has five bedrooms with three of the bedroomsadded in 1998 now open as short stay accomodation.
Tamar Valley
The Tamar Valley is surrounded by large hills and mountains and runs for 50km north-west from Launceston to the coast of Tasmania.
The valley enjoys a temperate climate with four distinct seasons. There are many vineyards that take advantage of the north facing slopes and produce many world class wines.
Along the valley you will find beaches, bushwalks, waterfalls and plenty of food and wine. Gindlewald, a mock Swiss vllage with fun golf and boating lake, is nearby as are the Beaconsfield Gold Mine, Platypus and Seahorse centres and for those with a head for heights the Batman Bridge over the Kanamaluka.
